First, thank you for this great opportunity of receiving much-needed help. My veteran husband, my 83-year-old mother and I have just moved back into our home after Hurricane Harvey destroyed all of our belongings. After moving in, so many contractors have misled us, taken money, overcharged and haven’t completed work, and it still looks like it’s under construction but we don’t have anywhere else to go. My mother and I are diabetic and need to have balanced meals so we’re thankful to have a kitchen to cook, and we now have found ourselves behind in our mortgage which we’ve struggled with due to my husband having trouble trying to find work as a 61-year-old veteran, and as a nurse Of 30 years, our income is tight. We also help our children and grandchildren as much as we can, so we’re stretched pretty thin, especially with having to get furniture and other necessities for our home. We would be overjoyed if we were chosen and beyond grateful. Thank you!
