I am a single parent of Special Needs Child who went through a divorce seven years ago. I was able to build the home I needed for my son even after not getting much from my son’s father through the divorce. I have a child who 100% depends on me from changing him to feeding him and All his other needs. I don’t get much help. Even with the fact of not being able to work a 9-5 job or trying to work every other weekend on a job I still get it done. I’m not afraid to work I just can’t work to make my ends meet as I was. If my son is sick it keeps me from working so I can’t make what I need, but I still managed. This past year has been hard, my son’s father is not keeping up his end of the bargain for my son. He doesn’t help me much but what he is required and still doesn’t do that. Therefore, it’s hard for me to stay employed so I can keep my funds coming in so again my struggle is harder, but I don’t let it stop me. I literally have to be creative to seek employment due to the only job I can do is drive a school bus so when my son is off from school I don’t have to worry about getting someone to watch him. This is the only job that works and that’s fine, however, the child support fund are behind n late and I here you will get when I get it. After 7yrs I’m back in court fighting to get my funds caught up. I blame no one and I can’t lose all that I have build behind his late payments and not keeping his son like he should. Therefore, I got behind and struggling to catch up. This would be a big help if I am chosen for this gift. I have within myself to figure out ways as well to help mothers like myself and I know it will happen one day. I plan to create jobs for parents who have special needs children who can not work but need to survive. I would love to get caught up and keep moving forward with my own plans to help my parents who not only have special needs children…but are special PARENTS as well.
